Most Anticipated 2017 Releases

Hello! Today's post is all about books (my favourite!). There are so many great books coming out this year and I can hardly wait. This going to be a long post as it is so I am going to stop this introduction right here and get on with my most anticipated releases of 2017! (This is not in order of most to least anticipated).

Summary:

Scarlett has never left the tiny island where she and her beloved sister, Tella, live with their powerful, and cruel, father. Now Scarlett’s father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval, the far-away, once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show, are over.

But this year, Scarlett’s long-dreamt of invitation finally arrives. With the help of a mysterious sailor, Tella whisks Scarlett away to the show. Only, as soon as they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval’s mastermind organizer, Legend. It turns out that this season’s Caraval revolves around Tella, and whoever finds her first is the winner.

Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. But she nevertheless becomes enmeshed in a game of love, heartbreak, and magic with the other players in the game. And whether Caraval is real or not, she must find Tella before the five nights of the game are over, a dangerous domino effect of consequences is set off, and her sister disappears forever.

-------

I saw Caraval by Stephanie Garber on the YA Novels of 2017 list on Goodreads and when I read the summary I was left so intrigued. It has been compared to, The Night Circus, which I purchased in 2016 and have been wanting to read for quite some time. I have heard amazing things from book reviewers whose opinions I trust so that has made me very hopeful. It sounds like there's going to be magical elements, as well as, romance in this debut novel which I am looking forward to. Hopefully my expectations are met!

Summary:

When Autumn Collins finds herself accidentally locked in the library for an entire weekend, she doesn’t think things could get any worse. But that’s before she realizes that Dax Miller is locked in with her. Autumn doesn’t know much about Dax except that he’s trouble. Between the rumors about the fight he was in (and that brief stint in juvie that followed it) and his reputation as a loner, he’s not exactly the ideal person to be stuck with. Still, she just keeps reminding herself that it is only a matter of time before Jeff, her almost-boyfriend, realizes he left her in the library and comes to rescue her.

Only he doesn’t come. No one does.

Instead it becomes clear that Autumn is going to have to spend the next couple of days living off vending-machine food and making conversation with a boy who clearly wants nothing to do with her. Except there is more to Dax than meets the eye. As he and Autumn first grudgingly, and then not so grudgingly, open up to each other, Autumn is struck by their surprising connection. But can their feelings for each other survive once the weekend is over and Autumn’s old life, and old love interest, threaten to pull her from Dax’s side?

-------

As you can tell from previous posts, I love Kasie West's books. They're just so cute an fluffy and fill you with all the warm fuzzies. From what I heard she is releasing two books this year--the first being, By Your Side. I mean just from the summary Autumn's predicament is a fairy tale to most girls, including myself. I am really looking forward to reading this soon as I just love cute contemporary books.

*This is the third book in this trilogy so if you have not yet read To All The Boys I've Loved Before and P.S. I Still Love You, do not read the summary. You have been warned...spoilers ahead.*

Summary:

Lara Jean is having the best senior year a girl could ever hope for. She is head over heels in love with her boyfriend, Peter; her dad’s finally getting remarried to their next door neighbor, Ms. Rothschild; and Margot’s coming home for the summer just in time for the wedding.

But change is looming on the horizon. And while Lara Jean is having fun and keeping busy helping plan her father’s wedding, she can’t ignore the big life decisions she has to make. Most pressingly, where she wants to go to college and what that means for her relationship with Peter. She watched her sister Margot go through these growing pains. Now Lara Jean’s the one who’ll be graduating high school and leaving for college and leaving her family—and possibly the boy she loves—behind.

When your heart and your head are saying two different things, which one should you listen to?

I am excited for this book but also sad that this trilogy is coming to an end. I first saw To All The Boys I've Loved Before at Indigo as I was perusing the books on the shelves when the cover just made me stop dead in my tracks. It is one of the most stunning book covers I've ever laid eyes on. When I read the summary, it sounded super cute so I just bought it without a second thought, read it, and fell in love. I am really anticipating Always and Forever, Lara Jean which sadly won't come out until summer but I am super excited. I watched POLANDBANANASBOOKS booktalk with Jenny Han who is the writer of this wonderful series a few months back which is how I found out the title of the third and final book. Can't wait to have this book in my arms and on my bookcase next to the rest of the trilogy.

*This is the third book in this series so if you have not yet read A Court of Thorns and Roses and A Court of Mist and Fury then I highly suggest you do so before reading the summary below. You have been warned...spoilers ahead.*

Summary:

Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin's maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit-and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre, but for her world as well.

As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords-and hunt for allies in unexpected places.

In this thrilling third book in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from Sarah J. Maas, the earth will be painted red as mighty armies grapple for power over the one thing that could destroy them all.

-------

This is probably my most anticipated book of 2017. I fell in love with Sarah J. Maas's books last year and her wonderfully crafted worlds. Her writing is so enticing and I guarantee you will become so absorbed and obsessed with her plot and characters. Time will just pass you by because her books are real page-turners. If that didn't compel you to read her books then I don't know what will. I, for one, am soooo ready for A Court of Wings and Ruin. I can't wait until the cover reveal which should be coming soon.

Except for Seth Nguyen, her funny, charming coworker at the local zoo. Seth doesn't seem aware of Maddie's big news. And, for some reason, she doesn't want to tell him. But what will happen if he learns her secret?

Oh well looky here, another Kasie West book. Lucky in Love is the second book that is being released this year but in summer this time. This is such a clever and interesting plot and I can't wait to see how Kasie executes this. Sounds sweet, romantic, and heart-warming. Can't wait until it's released!

Release Date: July 25, 2017
Buy at Indigo and Amazon.

The books I am about to mention do not have covers, one of them without a title, and both without a summary.

Throne of Glass 6

This book has no summary yet but it is the final installment to this wonderful series by Sarah J. Maas. I read all of Sarah's books last year and I fell in love with her writing. I am so excited yet so sad at the same time that this is the last book in this incredible series. I can't wait to see how she ties up this story. Hopefully with no horrible deaths and all of my favourite characters living happily ever after...please...I need this. Looking forward to this a ton!

Release Date: September 5, 2017

Without Merit

I will read anything Colleen Hoover writes, honestly. I just love her writing and she is one of my favourite authors. I have no idea what this book could possibly be about but as I said before, I will read anything she writes. I annually look forward to a new book by her in the midst of the blazing and blistering heat of summer. Staying indoors, keeping cool, and with a CoHo book in my hand is a day well spent. Can't wait to read the summary and have this book between my two palms. *Grabs thin air wishing Without Merit was in it.*

I hope you had a great and successful week. Have a Happy Friday and a wonderful weekend. See you soon!

  1. Hello there Little Lady, I am loving your writing and book reviews so much that I could be your most serious reading convert in the near future, book tag aside. I'm intrigued with Kasie West's 'By Your Side' as we really get to know folks and make/ not make that connection when quietly one-on-one with them, and feel their true essence. Thanks for sharing these and catch up with you over the weekend babes. Have a mellow one. x
